Assistant Bar Manager at ÅBEN Tank Bar & Restaurant
ÅBEN is currently looking for a service minded and responsible Assistant Bar Manager to join the tank bar & restaurant in Copenhagen. Do you love providing excellent service to customers? ÅBEN - Who Are We?
ÅBEN is a Danish craft brewery located in Copenhagen. We opened in 2017 and have since grown drastically with bars in Aarhus, Roskilde and Copenhagen. All our beers are brewed at the brewery in Kødbyen, Copenhagen. Experimentation is part of ÅBEN’s DNA, and our beer catalogue consists of beers ranging from hoppy IPAs and fruity sours to dark Imperial stouts.
ÅBEN is all about creating experiences that bring people together. Besides the brewery, the location in Kødbyen consists of a permanent tank bar with a taproom and a restaurant. The bar has been in constant development since it opened in 2022 and we continue to have high ambitions for the bar. With its attachment to the brewery, it can be considered as ÅBENs flagship bar with loads of events and activities taking place all year round.
About the Role
The bar is located at Slagtehusgade 15 in Kødbyen and your main working area is in our tank bar. Your primary responsibility is to ensure a high service level and contribute to creating engaging events for our guests. You will be assisting the General Manager, Jonas, along with the other Assistant Bar Manager, Sinne, and will become part of our entire ÅBEN family, which consists of more than 100 lovely colleagues across the brewery, office and five bars.
The position as an Assistant Bar Manager is a role where you will learn and grow your skills in close collaboration with General Manager and working side-by-side with the other Assistant Bar Manager. In addition to serving beer at the bar you will handle administrative tasks where you will gain insights into execution of events, purchasing and daily operation. You bear a great responsibility and will have to ensure a good working environment whilst passing on the ÅBEN culture to the team. You can leave your mark on the organization we are creating - it is about much more than serving beer.
About You
It is expected that you have experience from a previous service related job - however, we do not expect you to have worked at a beer bar in the past. Additionally, we expect that:
You have a minimum of +2 years of experience within the hospitality industry
You are social and like to work with events on a daily basis
You are responsible and thrive in a fast paced and flexible environment
You are a team player that enjoys working with others and have strong communication skills
You are approachable and understand the importance of excellent guest service
You are curious to learn about the world of beer
You will split your time between bar shifts and administrative tasks with bar shifts being your primary responsibility

The position is full-time, starting as soon as possible. However, we are willing to wait for the right candidate.
