ÅBEN is looking for a Head of Finance to lead our financial strategy and operations, helping us scale sustainably as we grow.

This is a hands-on role with real impact mixing strategic thinking with everyday execution. ÅBEN is looking for someone who is ready to step into a CFO-like scope and wants to help shape the journey ahead.

About the role

You will be responsible for the full financial picture at ÅBEN, partnering closely with the CEO and COO to guide decisions and ensure we are building a solid foundation for sustainable growth. From forecasting and reporting to cash flow management and developing a financial strategy - you will have an instrumental voice in shaping the future of ÅBEN.

You will take on a wide range of responsibilities, including:

  • Financial strategy - lead our financial direction and planning cycles. You will be the go-to person for financial decision-making across ÅBEN.

  • Controlling & reporting - ensure accurate, timely reporting and visibility into our financial performance. Coordinate with external accountants and auditors, and help put together reports for investors, board meetings, and our annual accounts.

  • Cash flow & operations - manage cash flow, optimize cost structures, and ensure we operate efficiently.

  • Funding & investor relations - support future fundraising processes and maintain strong relationships with our current external investor and relevant stakeholders.

  • Team building - you have the opportunity to shape the function from scratch by defining how finance is done at ÅBEN and building your own high-performing team.

  • Financial operations - responsible for day-to-day financial processes including bookkeeping, accounting, payments, and payroll. This means ensuring everything runs smoothly, accurately, and on time. You will keep our financial house in order as we scale.

About you

We are looking for someone with a strong analytical foundation and a sharp commercial mindset - someone who is ready to move from advising businesses to being part of building one. Whether you come from corporate finance, consulting, private equity, accounting, have worked as an experienced auditor or held a previous CFO role - this is an opportunity to apply your skills in a hands-on role with real ownership and impact.

We imagine you:

  • Have 4-8 years of experience 

  • Are confident working with financial models, reporting frameworks, and strategic business cases - and know how to translate numbers into decisions

  • Are motivated by stepping into a more entrepreneurial, execution-oriented environment

  • Thrive on structure and clarity, but are comfortable navigating ambiguity and changing plans

  • Communicate clearly and confidently, and you are comfortable collaborating with colleagues at all levels of the organisation
