A lot has happened at ÅBEN since 2017, when the brewery was founded by childhood friends Philip and Johannes on a farm near Kolding. Today, ÅBEN is more than just the beers it brews, which range from hoppy IPAs and fruity sours to dark imperial stouts. ÅBEN is an experience-driven brewery built on the principle of openness - being transparent about our brewing process and the beers we produce, as well as embracing creative partnerships and exploring new ways to create experiences with beer.
At ÅBEN, we are deeply grateful for the openness we have encountered since our beginning and for the trust that has made it possible for the brewery to grow. Today, ÅBEN has bars in Aarhus, Roskilde, and Copenhagen and is a proud initiator of the electronic music festival O Days at Refshaleøen, as well as ÅBEN’s own beer festival, Kalas. ÅBEN is made up of more than 100 fantastic colleagues working across the brewery, restaurant, office, festivals, and five - soon to be six - bars.
